The Big Green Pocketbook & Other Activities

We started "rowing" with a new book this week... and here were the records of what we did...
We did a lapbook on "The Big Green Pocketbook", and the elements of the lapbook was taken from the Homeschool Share site.
I added just one or two items into the lapbook...and the ideas were taken from here...
The Shape Word Book was taken from Enchanted Learning.
No-Sew Pocketbook was taken from Martha Stewart site where the template is free.
We sat down to do a pasting exercise on the paper pocketbook... in the event of this pasting, Tim get to re-visit the names of the shapes...

Tim being a sweet boy he is, gave the completed pocketbook to Little Missy... *smile*... see how Little Missy loves her new pocketbook? She looks like she's all ready to go shopping *wink*
Made Tim do the tracing of the word GREEN, but he made a mess out of it... guess he isn't ready for tracing activities yet... hmmm....

Going through the activity on "Three Green Things", Tim decided that he wants to pretend to be like a frog... after he completed the colouring of the frog, he squat like a frog and went hopping and saying "ribbit, ribbit"... that really tickled me... *LOL*
Finally, we went through the spelling of his name... both in upper case and lower case... he's still seems to be in the blur when I asked him if he knows what that word is... but I guess, he'll get there someday...

We completed the entire lapbook exercise in 2 days... on the other hand, as suggested in the BFIAR guide, I'll bring Tim to visit a laundromat, a bank, a jewellery shop, a thrift shop as and when I do my errands... to supplement his learning...

******************************************************************
And here are some other activities we've done at home through play...

Music and instruments... the kids had a fun time playing with the musical instruments we have at home... the idea is to get them exposed to different types of instruments and exploring the sounds that each instrument make...

I recently received a package through mail, and there was a bubble wrap that was great for the kids to practice on those fine motor skills... I demonstrated to the 2 kiddos how to burst the bubble and they played with it gleefully...although Little Missy's fingers weren't that strong yet...

Hi Mamabliss,
Your homeschool site is truely inspirational for me. I am a FTWM and don't have enough time to research and prepare materials for my kid. Hope you won't mind if I follow your footsteps on what you are doing with Tim as my gal is about 6 mths younger.
